We do not expect you to have done any training, or own any fancy kit. We provide all the canoe equipment, tents, maps and more!

Canoe expeditions on the river Wye:
The Wye is a favourite for DofE expeditions. It rises in the mountains of mid-Wales and flows south for some 150 miles, becoming part of the border between Wales and England before meeting the Severn. In its lower stretches, it meanders for 45 miles (72 km) through the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Full of wildlife and great campsites this trip has lots of interest to make everyday different.
The expedition starts with a training day, learning to paddle a tandem canoe in a relaxed way, stopping at a nice campsite with hot showers and time to set up camp with support and meet the team.
The next few days we paddle down the river, and practice our skills. The instructors will be close and we will take our time as we gain confidence.
We then have a preparation day, with a chance to rest, stay on the same campsite for two nights, top-up on food, and do some of the planning required.
Then we set of on your expedition. The instructors with be supervising as you head into the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, exploring as a team.
When the expedition is all over, we meet on Zoom to do the presentation and complete your expedition section.
